LCP Properties, a member of the international real estate investment group M Core, one of the leading investors and developers on the Polish Retail Park market as well as developing its second business area – SBU logistics space, has begun work on BREEAM certification of its portfolio. The project, which is scheduled for completion by the end of 2025, will cover all 93 properties located in the country. The implementation of BREEAM certification, in addition to reducing the carbon footprint, is also one of the main steps in the company's ESG strategy in Poland.

LCP currently has 93 facilities in Poland with a total of over 330,000 sq m of leasable area. The company is developing two of its brands – M Park, for retail parks, and Multipark for SBU logistics areas. In terms of quantity, they constitute approximately half of the company's total portfolio. The remaining part is single-store, so-called "stand alone". BREEAM certification, specifically BREEAM In Use part 1 and part 2, is planned for each of LCP's facilities.

The first property to successfully pass the certification process is the M Park Plac Vogla Retail Park located in Warsaw's Wilanów district, which received BREEAM International In-Use: Commercial v6 in the scope of Asset and Management Performance at the Excellent level.
BREEAM certification is currently the company's largest project in the broadly understood spectrum of ESG activities, but not the only one. At the same time, projects to install electric car chargers are being implemented in all properties. In many cases, trees are being planted near retail parks. In addition, the roofs of new projects, at the development stage, are designed so that photovoltaic panels can be installed on them in the future.

"The scale of the BREEAM certification project and the scope of specialist work necessary to obtain certificates is a significant challenge. On a daily basis, we take care of the development of our business, announcing new projects or locations. At the same time, we see the need to adapt existing properties to ecological standards. On the one hand, our approach is something natural to spread good practices, on the other hand, it is also dictated by business reasons. We want to be perceived as a company that cares about ecological aspects, which in effect translates positively into the management processes themselves," commented Magdalena Kowalewska - Kasperowicz, Chief Operating Officer, LCP in Poland.
